Oooh, it's windy here today! The temperature went from the 50s yesterday to 6 degrees right now, with a vengeance, and every time we get a particularly nasty gust of wind our kitchen window makes... a farty sound. Which would be funny, except that it's really loud, and it's keeping Syd from going down for naps sometimes.
Any ideas on silencing farty windows? It's one of those that slides sideways instead of opening up, and I've noticed that these windows tend to be noisy. (I had a similar window in BG that would make a high pitched whine, and I was always afraid the sucker would reach the right frequency and burst, like in a hurricane.)

First of all...farty..hee hee.
Second of all, we have a similar window. It doesn't fart, but it does like to slide open a bit and then whistle in the wind (and let in cold air, btw). You might try jamming a piece of wood in the track to shut it tight. Or, perhaps lining the opening with some foamy tape used to keep out drafts (what the hell is that stuff called?). Good luck and hey at least it only SOUNDS like a fart. Hee Hee Hee...
I also recommend the foamy tape (is it called weatherstripping?), or something to pad and tighten the rattley part.
The maintenance guy (God bless maintenance guys) came and put foamy tape all over the place, and so far so good! It's Beano for windows!
