Caffiene, she is my friend.

Fall classes are getting ready to start, and I'm looking at a future where I can't take any naps to supplement the (lack of) sleep I get at night. So, a brief survey:

What's your favorite form of caffeine?

What's your favorite way to get energy without caffeine?

End of summer freak-out

School starts in two weeks, and I'm not ready! I haven't done just about anything I wanted to this summer:
I haven't gone swimming except for one time with Amanda for ten minutes when it was really, really cold.
I haven't taken any shape or form of vacation... or even one partially relaxing day.
I haven't laid out in the sun with SPF one million on.
I haven't finished my gosh darn book proposal (a.k.a. "that which will give me the career I need," a.k.a. "the most important work-related thing in my life right now").
I haven't gone to Rita's to have gellati nearly enough.
I haven't been to the gym One Single Time (except for when I signed up at a new gym... which I haven't been to yet).
I haven't gotten the baby to sleep through the night without sleeping *on* me.
I haven't finished putting together my classes.
I haven't slept more than about 4 hours in a row.

Ok, I feel better now.

Suddenly, the Hunt Is On for Cage-Free Eggs - New York Times

A New York Times article about the growing popularity of cage-free eggs. The article points out that being cage-free are not necessarily nicer to the chickens, which is something I didn't know. I generally buy cage-free eggs because I thought they were nicer to the chickens and because they're healthier (lower in fat and cholesterol, higher in vitamins). This is something to think about, though -- for the (much) higher price, shouldn't I be assured that the chickens really are having a nicer time of it?

Awww...

Andy Samberg is a feminist! I just want to squeeze him, and then give him to my sister.

Oh, um... this article is fine, but the rest of this site is not so much safe for work (I just noticed that... I got the link originally here.

Where's Molly?

One man's effort to help people find relatives who were institutionalized decades ago.
